Winter Storm of 2010

January 31, 2010

After many false alarms from the weather guessers, we finally received our first substantial snowfall in several years.  Over the course of early Saturday morning through early Sunday morning, we got about seven to eight inches.  Not much for people up north, but that’s enough to shut the Hampton Roads area down.  VDOT treated and plowed the interstates, but I don’t think they plan on getting to major surface streets until today (maybe).  They won’t get to neighborhood streets, which might be a problem for bus pickup monday morning.  We’ll see.  Caroline has the day off and Patrick has exams.

The kids had a great time in the snow, as did the dogs.  Duke was hesitant at first but he eventually got into it.  Caroline tried to use the dogs as sled dogs (even though she didn’t have a sled), with mixed results.
